For Operators

Quick overview of what it takes to get onboarded as an Operator into Fermah AVS.

Devnet is permissioned. Please follow the steps below to get onboarded.

  1. Operator node installation (see here)

  2. Key setup (see here)

  3. Configuration setup (see here)

  4. EigenLayer Deposit (optional) (see here)

  5. Operator registration (see here)

  6. Telemetry setup (see here)

  7. Starting a node (see here)

These steps will get an EigenLayer Operator onboarded into Fermah Devnet.

Prerequisites

Registered EigenLayer Operator Account: Ensure you have a fully registered EigenLayer operator account. If you don't have one, follow the steps in the EigenLayer User Guide to create and fund your account.

You will also need the following:

  • Ubuntu 22.04 LTS (GLIBC 2.34+)

  • Docker v24+ (we use it for running Prover images)

  • Holesky Ethereum Node RPC URL access with your API key (e.g. Alchemy, Infura or private)

  • Grafana API key (provided by Fermah)

  • A static and reachable public IP on selected port (e.g. 8888)

Hardware Requirements

Resources used by the Operator will vary greatly depending on the prover image that is running.

  • Minimum specifications: We will need 8 vCPUs, 16GB RAM, and at least 50 gb SSD for consistent operations during Devnet.

  • Occasional instances: There will be occasions for testing new proof system integrations in which we will request a few hours of some GPU configurations (for example, 2 x 3080 gpus, 64 thread CPU, 256 GB RAM, 500 GB SSD).
