Why Fermah?

Generating zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPs) is resource intensive. It requires expensive, powerful physical infrastructure. It’s a hurdle for developers to source, deploy, and maintain this infrastructure. And even if they manage to do it, the infrastructure faces a low utilization rate.

The low utilization inflates the cost users need to pay for their proof generation tasks. Furthermore, designing, implementing, and maintaining an optimal incentive structure for such infrastructure is a monstrous task in itself.

Overall, proof generation as it stands today is expensive, slow, and unreliable.
